Edge of the Stour, Shotley

[Oil on linen, 40 × 50cm, 2022]

The painting is a close up of the bleached, dead base of a tree in front of a section of a metal barrier sunk into the sand along the shore of the River Stour at Shotley. I have zoomed in to emphasise the textures and subtle colours. It almost becomes a depiction of a mountain and cliffs in miniature.
